    Adanya agenda pemilu di tahun 2014, membuat agenda KemenPAN-RB harus ditinjau ulang. Akibatnya Kementerian Pendayagunaan dan Aparatur Negara dan Reformasi Birokrasi (MenPAN-RB) akan mempercepat proses perekrutan Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS).

    Rencananya, pendaftaran CPNS akan dibuka pada bulan ketiga atau Maret mendatang.

    “Tahun ini kita buka, kalau bisa ujiannya itu pertengahan tahun. Kita percepat, jangan akhir tahun seperti yang lalu,” ujar MenPAN-RB, Azwar Abubakar, saat ditemui di Gedung Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan (BPK), Jakarta, Rabu (22/1). Sementara, untuk ujian pendaftaran, Azwar mengatakan akan digelar sebelum atau sesudah Pemilu 2014. “CPNS ini kita lagi usahakan ujiannya Juni apa Juli. Sebelum pilpres atau sesudah Pilpres. Kira-kira itulah,” ucapnya.

    Sebelumnya, pemerintah melalui Kepala Badan Kepegawaian Negara (BKN) Eko Sutrisno, selaku ketua Panitia Seleksi Nasional (Panselnas), telah mengumumkan hasil tes penerimaan CPNS akhir tahun 2013 lalu. Dari 65.000 formasi yang dibuka hanya 58.796 yang terisi. Menurut Eko, kosongnya posisi tersebut disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya memang ada pelamar yang tidak lulus di posisi tersebut. Faktor lainnya adalah karena peserta yang ikut tes tidak memenuhi passing grade yang telah ditetapkan. “Yang terisi kurang lebih 58.796. Karena ini ada juga formasi tidak ada pelamarnya. Data yang masuk ke kita segitu,” ucap Eko.

    Di 2013 lalu, pemerintah membuka lowongan 65.000 posisi yang terdiri dari 25.000 formasi instansi pusat serta 40.000 instansi daerah. Menurut Eko, posisi yang kosong ini tidak akan diisi walaupun anggaran formasi tersebut telah disiapkan.
